About Terry’s Health
Hello. I’ve opened this Word Press blog for two reasons: one, it will allow me to post comments on other writers’ posts with Word Press identities, and two, I want to separate my health related posts from my book reviews. I have more than three or four dozen book reviews posted at my Blogger site (http://terrysthoughtsandthreads.blogspot.com) and readers who go to check the reviews are not necessarily looking for information about my health. So this one will be reserved for health posts.
I had a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis in 2007, and now in 2012 I am diagnosed with malignant melanoma, stage 1. I have a dermatologist and a skin surgeon, both in Brighton. I’ve been to Dana Farber to ascertain whether it is necessary to also see an oncologist, and am told that it is not necessary at this time. While that is a relief, it comes with the condition that I continue to see the dermatologist every three months to look for further melanoma skin sites. He has already identified two sites, as well as a few basal and squamous sites.
I’ve written a book about the multiple sclerosis diagnosis and treatment I experienced: Multiple Sclerosis an Enigma is available in both paperback and as an e-book for Kindle, Nook, Sony and other e-readers. In time I will write about melanoma, but for now, this Word Press Blog will keep interested readers up to date with that condition.
Both of these chronic conditions involve depression, and so I’ll post occasionally on how that affects my every day life as well.
Thank you for visiting this site; my goal is to share what I learn, towards assisting others who share these diseases, and to inform those who care for them.
